Nepalese were queued outside of the District Administration Office (DAO) to change their last name to HAYU. All of sudden HAYU became the most popular surname in Nepal since government announced monthly government allowance of Rs 500.

Most of the HAYU community members changed their last names to something else earlier when they were not allowed to join Civil service, Nepal army and the Police. Now they are coming back to DAO to change back to HAYU.
